According to the United States Department of Agriculture, California’s three most valuable agricultural products are milk and cream, shelled almonds, and – our favorite – grapes. Ever since we rose to prominence with our wine-making skills in the mid-seventies, California wine has been a hugely popular drink all over the world, and we have so many amazing ones to choose from including pinot noir and zinfandel.
There are other iconic alcoholic drinks that originate from this colorful state, such as the cocktails White Russian, tequila sunrise, and Shirley Temple, plus many delicious amber ales, and even California whiskey – we feel like the list of amazing California beer, wine, and spirits is growing by the second!

From the Bogle family’s amazingly fruitful 50-year-old wine-making business – preceded by generations of the family’s farming – this is a wonderful wine that comes from years of dedication and hard work. Using a unique combination of fruit from the Russian River Valley, the coastal hills of Monterey, and the Clarksburg Delta, this is a true gem: a garnet-colored wine from the Wine Enthusiasts’ American Winery of the Year 2019.

#2 BLUE LABEL CALIFORNIA LIMITED EDITION BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY
This limited edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label honors the magnificence of our unique state, from its amazing coastline to the monumental hills, all with its own unique character. This whiskey was made from a selection of rare casks from Speyside and Highland distilleries – including Cardhu, Clynelish, Benrinnes, and smoky Islay malts. #3 NULU TOASTED BARREL 'CALIFORNIA EXCLUSIVE' SINGLE BARREL SELECT BOURBON WHISKEY BATCH CA2
This drink is made from expertly selected uncut and unfiltered barrels of four to six-year MGP bourbon finished in a freshly toasted barrel. The bourbon sits doing its wonderful thing in toasted barrels for one to four weeks, then it is tasted throughout the finishing process to ensure it has exactly the right balance.
Although it is made in Kentucky, we adore this unique and outstanding toasted single-barrel whiskey that is dedicated to our glorious state – and you will struggle to find it in many places, so get it quickly!
#4 JAM CELLARS BUTTER CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2018
This is a full, rich, and luscious cabernet made in the tradition of the best traditional California wine makers. You will fall in love with Butter Cab just like we did thanks to its smooth feel and succulent, deep-red fruits. It has been aged in a unique oak blend so that there is a wonderful hint of vanilla in this wine’s lingering finish. A rollercoaster of amazing flavors and aromas – that’s the Californian way!
