We are fortunate to live in a region that produces great wine, beer, and spirits, so we are very excited to dabble with local casks when we can to create unique whiskey. Kiona vineyards founded the red mountain ava in the early ’70s when they planted the old block section of their vineyard. The fine folks at Kiona kindly gave us these freshly dumped old block Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. After resting in these barrels for 18 months to bourbon picks up wonderful red currant and tart cherry notes as well as a beautiful ruby hue. This is an extremely small-batch, local-only release.
