Portuguese visual artist, Vhils, is renowned for developing the unique aesthetic of removing layers from walls and other surfaces to expose what lies beneath. Considered groundbreaking in urban and contemporary art scenes, Vhils’ innovative portraits are chiseled into city landscapes around the world. Vhils also known as Alexandre Farto grew up in a working-class family in a district of Lisbon. He was first introduced to street by seeing creative on trains and city walls. Farto eventually studied ay the Saint Martins School in London. He now owns the Underdogs Gallery in Lisbon and helps get recognition to rising start artists.
