The legend goes that on one of the freight trips to the hills a heavily loaded wagon lost its wheel on a high hill causing the load of sugar to spill down the hill. The broken axle and wheel were repaired, and the wagon reloaded - except for the sugar. The area became known as “the hill where the sugar spilled”. And because ain’t no one got time to say all of that, the natural progression to the name of our #sweetcity happened - Sugar Hill.
